Running is better when it’s shared. Our Events Calendar is where you’ll find everything happening with OUT&BACK — from social runs and brand demo nights to race meet-ups, trail adventures and community events across Scotland and beyond.

We work closely with our partners, ambassadors and the wider running community to create opportunities for people to connect, explore new routes and be part of something bigger than the miles themselves. Whether you're new to running, training for your next goal race, or just looking to meet like-minded people, there’s always something happening.

CLACHNABEN HILL RACE

The Clachnaben Hill Race returned for 2026 and was held on Saturday 11th April.

Clachnaben, near Banchory, is a distinctive hill mainly due to the large granite tor at the summit and is visible from many points across Deeside.

The race itself features a total of approximately 690m of ascent and a total distance of 13.6km. It’s a challenging route and has everything you’d want from a classic hill race.

GLEN TANAR TRAIL RUNNING FESTIVAL

We are proud to be retail partners of the Glen Tanar Trail Running Festival as it enters it's second year!

The event takes place on 25th - 26th July and features four races set on the incredible Glen Tanar Estate in Scotland's spectacular Cairngorms National Park in Royal Deeside.

As part of the 4 races, you will run across tracks and trails next to rugged heather moorland through towering Caledonian pine forests and alongside the winding River Tanar.

Race Distances:

10km with 76m elevation gain
15km with 398m elevation gain
25km with 523m elevation gain
55km with 1789m elevation gain

Both the 25km and 55km races are UTMB Index Races.

OUT&BACK will be providing prizes for the winners as well as an exclusive discount for race entrants.

ILLUMINATOR NIGHT TRAIL RACE

We are proud to be retail partners of the Illuminator Night Trail Race, an iconic event which takes place on the Glen Tanar Estate, near Aboyne.

The event takes place on 24th October and is a thrilling night-time trail race where participants run through forest trails and rugged terrain, guided by head torches and glow markers.

Race Distances:

8km (walk + run)
15km (walk + run)
15miles (runners only)

OUT&BACK will be providing prizes for the winners as well as an exclusive discount for race entrants.

DEESIDE RUNNERS NIGHT RACE SERIES

The Deeside Runner notorious Night Race Series takes place from December to February and consists of bogs, ice, holes to fall down in the dark, very disappointing prizes, and cafes serving well-earned refreshments. What’s not to like?

For two years in a row, OUT&BACK have supported the series, providing race entrants the opportunity to try out head torches as well as providing a prize for the male and female outright winners of the series.

The series kicks off in December and runs through to February. Stay tuned for details on 2026's edition.
